Saplings
The Redwood Saplings, Humboldt Roller Derby's junior program, invites females aged 11-17 to participate in a fun, healthy contact sport while developing their athletic ability, leadership and communication skills. Participants learn the game of roller derby while making new friends, learning new skills and mastering game strategies.
Come see the Saplings in action! The Championship Bout will be held on June 9th from 6:30-8PM at Redwood Acres in Eureka. Admission is free, but we gladly accept donations.
The Saplings program begins their season with an 8 week Basic Skills Class designed to get new skaters up and rolling. This class is then followed by the Derby Skills Class, which is open to returning skaters and runs from February until June. Registration for the 2011 classes are currently closed. Registration for the 2012 programs will open this fall.
